Avanos Ceramic Application and Research Center

12^th International Avanos Applied Ceramics Symposium UAUSS 2022, with the themes of “Ceramic Installation (Installation Art) / Ceramic Sculpture / Wall Ceramics” with the contributions of Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Avanos Ceramic Application and Research Center (ASEM), Mayor of Avanos and Local Governor of Avanos, It will start in Avanos 17 between 26 June 2022.

The main goal of the symposium is to exchange the experiences, personal techniques and artistic observations of ceramic artists and local potters through the event of installation or sculpture outdoor ceramic pieces. It is expected through this event to contribute to the Cappadocia region and Avanos which has been a traditional ceramic town for centuries and which still continues to be a popular ceramic center.

The outdoor installation or sculpture ceramics created in the frame of the symposium will remain in the possession of Avanos District Governorship, Avanos Mayorship and University of Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli Avanos Ceramic Application and Research Center be exhibited as permanent public outdoor ceramics in the town center of Avanos and in the NEVÜ Campus.

The application area will be open to the public, next to the Avanos suspension bridge. Students of Avanos Vocational School of Fine Arts, Department of Handicrafts and Faculty of Fine Arts, Ceramics and Glass Department will assist the artists. In addition, the artists will make their presentations at the Avanos Fine Arts Vocational School conference hall.

On Sunday, 19 June 2022 at 15.00, there will be a Ceramic Exhibition opening at Güray Museum as part of the Symposium.
