Avanos Ceramic Application and Research Center

9th International Avanos Applied Ceramic Symposium (UAUSS 2015), will be held with the theme of  “Outdoor Ceramics” and in coorperation with Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, ASEM (Avanos Ceramic Application and Research Center) and District Governorship of Avanos between 15th and 26th October 2015 in Avanos, Nevşehir. 14 Invited Ceramic Artists from abroad, from Turkey and besides from the local potters of Avanos will produce large outdoor ceramic works near the riverside of Avanos. On the other hand, various activities such as salt firing, raku firing and open space ceramic firing, workshops and visual activities will be held and ceramic exhibition will be opened in Hacı Nuri Bey Mansion.

Works produced during the symposium, will be placed permanently around the district of Avanos. The Symposium which is held by the Rectorship of Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, ASEM and The District Governorship of Avanos and the organising committee will be opened to all audiences. Invited artists work processes, exhibitions, presentations and personal experiences can be followed by anyone who wishes.
